Prof. Nebath Tanglang Visiting Research Professor and Senior Mentoring Scholar at ICITD. He is a Professor of Physical and Health Education Specialising in Sports Management. Prof. Tanglang was first appointed by the University of Maiduguri Nigeria in the Department of Physical and Health Education in 1985 as a Graduate Assistant where he grew through the rank as a Professor of Sports Management. He served as a Head of Department at the same university from 2005-2007. Later he moved to the National Open University of Nigeria the only single-mode Open and Distance Learning (ODL) university in Nigeria where he has served there from 2008 to date as a Professor in the Faculty of Education. He served as the Pioneer Study Centre Director of the National Open University of Nigeria in Gombe State, Gombe.
Prof. Tanglang has held several positions in the National Open University of Nigeria among which are: The Deputy Vice-Chancellor ( Administration), Director, Learner Support Services, and now he is the Director of Academic Planning.
He is currently the Director, African Council for Distance Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Agency ( ACDE-QAAA). A continental Non-Governmental organization consisting of all Open and Distance Learning institutions in Africa. At the international level, Professor Tanglang is also presently the African Quality Assurance Focal Point for the International Council for Distance Education (ICDE). Locally, Prof. Tanglang has served and serving now as external examiners to several universities in Nigeria.
Prof. Tanglang has published widely. His research interest is in Corporate Sports Sponsorship Quality Assurance in ODL as well as Taking Digital Education to Correctional Centres. He is married with two children.
