Ravi Paul, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Management Information Systems in the College of Business at East Carolina University. Ravi earned both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Management (MIS emphasis) from Clemson University after completing his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University. His research has been published in journals such as the Requirements Engineering Journal, Information and Management, and the Journal of Computer Information Systems, as well as in conference proceedings such as HICSS, AMCIS, and DSI. Prior to entering Academia, Ravi worked for several years in the IS/IT industry, holding technical and managerial positions in systems analysis, design, development, and administration.
Ravi’s passion for teaching and seeing his students succeed have resulted in numerous teaching awards including the most prestigious University of North Carolina Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching – the top teaching award at ECU. He has also been awarded the UNC Board of Governors Distinguished Professor for Teaching Award, the ECU Alumni Association’s Robert L. Jones Award for Outstanding Teaching, College of Business Commerce Club Teaching Excellence Award, and New Faculty Teaching Award, and the ECU Scholar-Teacher Award. He was also honored to be invited to deliver the Commencement address at ECU’s Fall 2012 Graduation.
