Paul is the Dean and a Professor of Management Information Systems in the College of Business at East Carolina University. Previously he served as COB Associate Dean and Assistant Dean for Assessment, Accreditation, & Curriculum in the College. Prior to joining ECU he was on the faculty of the Walker College of Business at Appalachian State University. Before pursuing an academic career he worked for several small businesses and non-profits including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

His research primarily focuses on Internet Mediated Relationships and has appeared in journals such as Industrial Management & Data Systems, Journal of Internet Commerce, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Information Systems Education, and has been presented at numerous conferences.

He received a BA in Business Administration from Palm Beach Atlantic College, MBA from Florida Atlantic University, and PhD in Management – Management of Information Technology & Innovation from Auburn University. He is an ECU Chancellor’s Leadership Fellow and has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies.
